In other words, this has a fantastic presentation. The music is some of the most catchy and memorable stuff from any Gameboy game ever, and the visuals are shockingly well detailed, as the sprites not only look more alive, but also look like they're from an adorable version of SMW, making this one of the best looking Gameboy games out there. The powerups are all awesome, as they are some of the funnest and most unique in a Mario game up to this point, and the fact that these haven't made a return in newer games is pretty baffling, as they really work. The world map, while not usually a big deal in Mario games, is almost as expansive as the one in SMW, which is fantastic. The gameplay is fluid and controls just like you would expect it too.
The level design is very creative and well designed, as are the bosses. This is, without a doubt, one of the most criminally underrated Mario games out there, since it has about, if not just as much quality as other masterpieces like SMB3 or SMW. But, Nintendo somehow took that games formula, mixed in a little bit of SMW, and managed to fit it all on the Gameboy.
#Gameboy super mario land 2 full
After the great, yet somewhat dated "Super Mario Land", some, including myself, thought that that game was the full extent of Mario that we would get on the Gameboy, which would've been fine on it's own, since that game was still a great time, despite it aging worse than milk.
